View Purpose

Views are used to find and display information that is relevant to the user and in a format that is easy to understand.

Views can combine information from multiple Data Sources from any part of the Anybuild system including ERP CRM and Custom Entities.

View Composition

It is good practice with Anybuild and with Software in general to break complex components into simpler sub-components. This is especially true for Anybuild views because it is so easy to compose them.

Simpler views are easier to understand and to test for accuracy.

e.g. If you need a View to show Account Summaries by Period, firstly create 2 bases views of Transactions by Account and the Periods you want, the create the Final View that uses the base views as Data sources.

This also supports with creating drill-down views, an advanced very useful capability of Anybuild where the View User in this example could drill down from the summary view to the detail to for a particular account and period.

Materialized Views

Anybuild has the option to create Materialized views - these can improve performance - Materialized views cannot have parameters so create them as base views first then create a view with parameters that uses the materialized view as a data source.
